Scarlett
Since the pandemic, I noticed the trains going more and more where I live. I hadn't heard them but maybe twice since living here and now I hear the trains going by almost every night. What are they typically used for these days?
James
Hopefully they are cargo trains being used to help ease our supply chain worries.
Stacey
I think James is right. You are probably hearing them more because of trucker shortages and supply chain disruptions. It costs more to run trains vs trucks but you can carry a lot more and get shipments done sometimes faster.
Sophia
We have some trains close to our house and I hadn't heard them in years. Out of no where I started hearing them every day at 4AM and 4PM. I asked about this and was told they started using them again for transporting goods when a lot of truck drivers quit over vaccine mandates.
