Getting your ads during sporting events in person & on tv

I wonder, how much do you think it'd cost to get ads in sporting events around the US? But also to get them on placement during tv airings? I think it'd be great to get my ads out there in sporting events, but I also suspect that it would be the most expensive, especially to get it on TV, that'd be even more. How much do you think it'd cost?

According to adage.com they state that the following is the average price for a 30 second ad spot on TV during: 

Sunday Night Football: $811,679 for a 30 second commercial
Thursday Night Football: $635,439 for a 30 second commercial

Is it any wonder you only ever see brands everyone knows about? I think online adspace is far more affordable and can be beneficial for a lot of people who own and run online businesses. I always knew ads during football games were insane in cost. Just imagine what one costs during the Superbowl.

I would never want to spend this kind of money when online advertising is an option, especially on places like Facebook and Twitter where you can get so many eyes on them without even paying a fraction of that cost.

I would only ever do local-level ads on TV. They are usually fairly affordable and a good place to start. You need a lot of money to do national ones and even then, you are not guaranteed to see anything come of them.
