Emma
Which do you prefer when it comes to freelance or general jobs? I know a lot of people get paid bi-weekly and they are okay with that but after having worked a few places that paid weekly, I miss it! These days, outside of my standard job, I do freelance and I get paid usually once a month. It sucks but it has taught me to manage my money better.
Brenden
I prefer getting paid as soon as possible, so weekly or bi-weekly. But that's not always how it works with freelance work. If you work on a freelance site for example, you're probably going to be waiting longer than a week or two. Especially starting off, you may not be paid for months depending on the work you put in. If you have control, you can ask for weekly or bi-weekly. But a lot of sites require you to wait a certain period of time, or they require you to meet a certain amount earned before you can transfer the money.
James
When I used to get a paycheck my favorite jobs all paid monthly. I am a member of some affiliate programs that have 90 days to approve a transaction and then the network pays out on net 60 terms. So it is about a half a year before money starts flowing from that. As a business we always extended our best clients net 30 terms which puts payday a little over a month out. In the end it comes down to managing cashflow. Ella
I really don't have a preference. I have had each type of income and really, it didn't bother me waiting or not. I feel like I was better able to budget my money when I was only getting it once a month though! So there is that!
