Mila
When I first heard about only fans, I thought it was a place where famous people online could earn extra money and allow fans to have more access to their life. Apparently, a huge part of that site was just fetishes and pornography. They are going to be banning it from the platform in October. Do you think this is a good business move?
James
They have to because they are raising money from outside investors. So they are currently trying to clean up what their platform has turned into. It will not change anything in the scope of the industry new sites will come in to take OnlyFans place. When working in what is pretty much the porn industry it is hard to get banks to lend you money, credit card processing rates are typically really high. It seems OnlyFans wants to be huge platform likely looking to go public someday so that is why these changes are coming.
Justin89
The title of the site doesn't imply anything sexual though, that's why it always confused me why adult content even got on there. It's pretty much patreon, as it's just another way for people to support creators and celebs. But... people started to use it to post sexual content for money. I don't know if this is even true, but I heard in a video somewhere, that the investors are part of a religious group who are against adult content, and have tried to do this with other sites. I guess going after the credit card merchants on adult sites, and make them feel guilt for having their merchant on said adult sites. Like I said though, I don't know if that info is true, just thought it was interesting to share.
Lana
They can't handle it anymore. They want to go public, but adult content like that is a no go now. I don't think they ever intended for it to become anything like what it has become. I mean, look at cameo for example, that's what OnlyFans is really meant for. It was meant for celebs to gain another revenue stream, and for smaller creators to gain more support as well. But it started to be used by sex workers instead. And that's all well and fine, until you go public. And with the investors they do have, they aren't into that kind of content it seems. There will be another site to replace it, if there hasn't been one made already. I'm sure some will pop up on Patreon and other such sites.
