TopicStarter
I’m sure that, like me, all of you have faced rejection at least once in your life. Whether it was a high school crush rejecting your proposal or simply being rejected at a job interview. Rejection in life is inevitable and it hurts each time. Before you even know it, the fear of failure starts weighing heavily on your life. It holds you back from taking risks, which could have potentially offered you great benefits. And the problem is that the consequences go unnoticed until it’s probably too late! You begin to focus so much on others rejecting you that it just invites more rejection. After all, that is the law of attraction. Negativity attracts even more negativity. It’s important to stop allowing the fear of rejection, change, or failure to prevent you from achieving your dreams. I’d say take a few steps forward and start focusing on ways to make life worth living! Here’s some of my advice on how you can overcome your fears: #1 Stop with the self-doubt: limiting beliefs regarding your skills and self-worth might be holding you back from going after a fulfilling career, relationship - rather, a worthwhile life. Identify these beliefs and change them. #2 Let go of past experiences: usually, self-doubt stems from past experiences, but what people fail to realize is that the past doesn’t determine the future. You might have been rejected in the past, and that must have hit you personally. However, it’s now time to move on, let go of the hurt, and focus on happiness - after all, you deserve to be happy. #3 Bring about a change: once you’ve conquered self-doubt, focus on changing your story. Replace your negative thoughts with positivity and make your life empowering. This will force you to move forward. #4 Build your inner strength and confidence: remember that even successful people tend to fail. The only difference is that they know how to pick themselves up and use that rejection as a life lesson. That’s what you should do; build your self-confidence and inner strength so you can restructure obstacles as opportunities. #5 Know how to control emotions: the fear of rejection is also an emotion that can be controlled. If not, the emotion will end up controlling you. So, identify what you’re feeling and learn to accept it. Creating a breakthrough is how you can overcome your fears. What are some ways you have been able to overcome the fear of rejection?
Mila
The past experiences is what gets most people. This is true for a lot of things, especially in relationships. Once something hurts you, it is hard to forget it. Funny too because we tend to better remember the pain than the joy in life.
