Scarlett
In terms of above ground pools, do they add value to the house or take away value? I can't seem to find information on this. Some say it adds some say it takes it away. I think in-ground pools add value if anything but I am not too sure.
Lana
For the most part, I believe it adds a lot of value. I think a pool, hot tub, sauna etc, can increase the price tag for your house. Now, if that pool was damaged, or in rough shape, it could bring the value down.
James
I can tell you here in AZ they add value for retail buyers. I will also say as a buy and hold investor I will not add any homes with a pool to my portfolio but that is just my personal experience owning a pool myself and how much of a money sink they are. Guess it really depends on the audience that is buying the property.
StanleyZEN
Yeah, as much as I think most people want pools, some don't want to deal with the burden of upkeep. I myself love pools, but wouldn't want to deal with the upkeep of the pool, so I would go for a home without one. But, they do draw in buyers eventually. It's just a matter of when. Pools sell houses, but not all people are interested in them.
