Are people going to still work online with the pandemic ending?

When the pandemic arrived, many people were forced out of work and had to rely on finding work online. Some had success and some didn't. Do you think that people will go back to the office when the pandemic is officially over? Or will people still work online going forward?

[James]

Yes people are going to go back to the office. It may take awhile but I think people enjoy going to office. I also know a lot of companies feel and data shows you get higher productivity out of people in office. 

There will always be online workers as I have known people that work from home my entire life even before the internet existed.

It seems a lot of companies are moving over to the hybrid approach now and they will ease people back into being together. 

The sparks that form by having people in the same area  are priceless. The unplanned interactions that take place can not be replicated online. 

I have enjoyed the lack of traffic though when driving around :).

I think a lot of companies see the value in it. I mean think about it, they don't have to pay for office buildings! I know one that was near where I live, they shut down their big office building and now the main building is just a small space with a few private offices and 90% of the staff work from home.

I know some which have switched to shorter in office work weeks and from what I read and heard, this has improved overall happiness for a lot of workers. They are able to spend more time at home in comfort and less time commuting with aggravation.
