Ella
How much do you think it would cost to add an addition bathroom as well as a bedroom to a house that is on a slab with no upstairs? I am trying to factor this into the other thread where I asked about investing in a small house.
Carson
Depends on the house, the property line, and how big you want the additions to be. My brother added a bedroom addition to their trailer years ago, and it was relatively small, but it costed around $20,000 just for it. I could imagine around $20,000 for a new bedroom. As for the bathroom, not sure, could be more depending on the size, or if it's smaller, it could be cheaper.
James
I would budget about 50k for a project like that. You have to think that you will need to do roof work if you are building the house out further. Bathrooms can range depending on the kind of fixtures you are going with. I have never added onto a structure before so I do not really know. $50,000 is a pretty magic number it seems things always seem to workout to being close to that. Sophia
Depending on the plumbing, the bathroom alone can cost upward of 25k. A room addition is usually 15-30k but can go beyond that. I think James is spot on with a budget of 50k. You will have more than enough to work with if you end up running into any issues.
