Growth is 80% psychology, 20% mechanics.

In this video from Motivation District, viewers learn about the importance of psychology in both their professional and personal lives. The narrator of this video engages his audience early with the line “the chokehold of any business is the psychology and skill set of the leader.” While this may be initially shocking to hear for some, it is fairly accurate. From a growth standpoint, a leader must be able to make smart decisions and have faith in their company to succeed, overcome obstacles, and learn from mistakes. The narrator continues with the anecdote that an owner may be a great innovator but may not know how to market their products. This is something many find to be true in their own endeavors. To combat this, the narrator suggests that any individual can acquire the skills needed as long as they have the right mindset.

The narrator moves on to discuss the importance of challenging your surroundings. “If you accept or allow your environment to control your psychology,” the narrator starts, “then you are not going to win.” I believe that this can be applied to both business and personal lives. We must constantly envision our success and work to find ourselves surrounded by people, places, and things that inspire us in order to grow.

Towards the latter half of this video, the narrator discusses the concept of happiness and fulfillment, stating that no amount of money will give us happiness. While we all strive to be happy and fulfilled, many fall into the pattern of making others happy before themselves. To be successful does not automatically translate to being fulfilled. The narrator argues that progress is the key to happiness. Continuing to educate ourselves, develop our skills, and expressing gratitude for all that we have can lead to the fulfillment which we all desire. I think this is an important point that can be applied to all areas of life, not just business.

This video is a must-watch for those looking for inspiration to reevaluate their mindset and take the crucial steps towards fulfillment. This video can be accessed below:
